November newsletter

Welcome to the November 2023 Lifekidz newsletter.

Kia ora, this month I would like to show case our wonderful whanau-based Community Day Program. Operating from 8.30 till 2.30 5 days a week and beautifully managed by Team Leader Arahi and his dedicated staff, this is a space for those who are 21 and over and left school. This program has 11 High Needs and 7 Very High Needs clients and 1 receiving 1:1 support all of whom, have a great sense of belonging within this consistently stable and welcoming environment. The participants each attend most days, knowing this is their space and looking forward to the friendship, socialization, and shared experiences with the other participants.

The program provides a well-balanced mix of mainstream community activities such as Art Galleries, Botanical Gardens, dance, art and yoga classes, swimming pool visits and beach barbeques mixed with wonderful indoor activities in the Centre.

There are baking days to make lunch and create something delicious for the after-school program when they arrive. Last week was Diwali with a fabulous feast made by the staff. This week we repotted all the planters at the front entrance, special shout out to Bunnings, for generously donating a truck load of potting mix and all the plants.

Thank you to Jordan, who has been supporting us from Bunnings for years. You are a legend.
The year is drawing to a close and many of us are just happy to finally see some sunshine and blue skies. We are revamping our water play area and fingers crossed it will be completed in time for the warm weather.
